Our Buildings team are currently looking for an Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with significant experience in Health sector to work in the North West England. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer opportunities for skill set and career development. In this role you will help build client relationship through excellent project delivery and communication which in turn will help with the generation of more work from existing clients. Job description / tasks and responsibilities: * Liaison with both internal and external clients, contractors and suppliers. * Participate in both internal and external design meetings, technical reviews. * Review and Approval of Mechanical detailed design calculations and drawings. * Review and Approval of Mechanical technical documentation. * An ability and willingness to mentor and assist the development of more junior Engineers. * The responsibility for attending major project kick-off meetings, leading the projects forward and briefing supporting engineers. * Liaison/ define boundaries with other disciplines as Electrical Design, Structural Design, Control systems, Architectural Design, Building Surveying / Cost consulting teams. * Project document control & management in line with the company Quality Management System. * Operate within and adhere to the company Health & Safety policy and procedures. Design / Calculation packages used: * 2D - AutoCAD * 3D - Revit (BIM Level 2 model) * IES * Bentley Hevacomp Education/Experience: * CEng Chartered Engineer status is preferred but not mandatory. * Sufficient and appropriate experience in a relevant field, including experience in a similar role. * A thorough working knowledge of relevant CIBSE Guides, British Standards, BSRIA, IGEM, HTM, HBN, Building Bulletins and other industry authority publications. * An understanding of the Construction & Design Management Regulations 2015. * An ability to size and specify valves, instruments and piping components, HTM compliant Air Handling Units. * An ability to size and specify major plant such as Boilers, Heat Pumps, CHP engines, pumps and heat exchangers. * An ability to manage time, resources, budget and programme. * An attention to detail and a high standard of verbal and written skills. * A keen interest in Health and Educational Sectors and energy saving technologies. * A natural aptitude for undertaking engineering calculations, analysis and problem solving. * Ability to find and propose solutions to internal / external clients Why Arcadis?
