THE PURPOSE OF HEAD OF CARE AND CLINICAL GOVERNANCE As Head of Care and Clinical Governance you will design, own and embed a governance system for all services that embraces ongoing continual quality and mitigates risk, as well as lead governance and quality assurance reporting across the business including its committees and boards, ensuring that learning is shared from incidents, practice development initiatives and latest clinical evidence. In parallel with this you will translate the business' strategic vision and plans for its care support service and will ensure that new services opened sit within all quality and governance frameworks that promote best practice and safe, effective person centred care. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS HEAD OF CARE AND CLINICAL GOVERNANCE Clinical Governance * Act as the subject matter expert when clinical opinion is required as well as general governance or quality topics * Develop a systematic approach for updating and reviewing policies. Lead any training and reporting needed for policy embedding and implementation * Lead in the embedding of new knowledge across the business and identify the education and training needs of various departments, in relation to all aspects of quality assurance and clinical governance Care * Work across teams to assist in the development of new services and ensure directly delivered services are in line with relevant national regulatory frameworks. * Meet agreed targets for growth of service. * As line manager to the Registered Manager and Employment Support Services Manager you will be responsible for the operational day-to-day management of the care support service ensuring Bush & Co's continued compliance with relevant legislation. Working in partnership with colleagues in the senior management team you will ensure the provision of a high quality service enabling individual needs and organisational priorities to be met in accordance with available resources. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO BE HEAD OF CARE AND CLINICAL GOVERNANCE Educated to degree level or have an equivalent experience or professional qualification Current registered clinical qualification Expert in clinical governance Expert knowledge of the Health & Social Care Act 2008, (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission guidance 'Essential Standards of Quality & Safety' Experience of Case Management including report writing, desirable Proven experience of successfully managing a team to meet targets and compliance Experience of framework building and maintaining, protecting the business from risk at all times Experience of managing incident and complaints reporting Assessed for Enhanced DBS and barring alongside standard credit checking procedures PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES FOR HEAD OF CARE AND CLINICAL GOVERNANCE Naturally caring and compassionate approach Self - motivated in maintaining professional knowledge Desire for personal development Approachable Supportive and coaching management style Dedicated to Client confidentiality, and protecting the business from risk Curious Unified Driven Passionate
