Grade: Band E Lower Salary: 41,739 to 45,909 Closing Date: 24th June 2020 About the role: To lead on the operational coordination for the provision of front line tools and Digital support to Investigators which includes the day to day running of force located self-service mobile phone Kiosks and Self Service CCTV (Tier 2), Digital Investigation Hubs the management and leadership of staff and services within the hubs (Tier 3) mobile phone examinations (logical and physical),CCTV, CCTV technical support/and other senior technical decisions. This role is instrumental in the development of the Tier 3 model. You will be accountable for performance, quality and service delivery against agreed service levels of these specialist functions. Working alongside the Service Improvement Team, the role will be responsible for the maintenance of Quality Management, staff training, development and competence across a range of disciplines within a professionally run and accredited environment. To ensure that all records are maintained in accordance with FSD policy and procedures and are auditable. Customer and stakeholder relationships will incorporate investigation and intelligence teams and private sector suppliers supporting ongoing research and development within technical specialism. Key Responsibilities: * To be directly responsible for the day to day running of force located self-service Kiosks (Tier 2) and Digital Investigation Hubs (Tier 3 mobile phone examinations/CCTV/ etc/currently in build mode) * Co-ordinate and implement the delivery of current and future quality standards (ISO 17020, 17025 and FSR Codes of Practice) across a range of digital disciplines within a professionally run and accredited environment. Working closely with other Forensic Services Managers, Head of Quality & Compliance and Service Delivery Team * This will include but not limited to: Identification of training needs, active directory, user competency, quality checks, peer reviews, internal audits, non-conformance/ corrective actions, asset register. * To monitor and manage demand, service levels and performance standards using data analysis and reporting * To be responsible for the delivery of performance & SLA's across remote and hub operations (T3) within Digital Forensics * To be responsible for awareness and execution of new Forensic innovation, digital policies, WMP policies, legislative requirements and processes * Responsibility for the development and welfare of digital investigation staff across remote locations * To work closely with the Head of Department in the procurement of equipment and service upgrades * Responsibility for the overall development and welfare of forensic staff and conformance to Health and Safety Standards. * Engagement with NWOW and Transforming Forensics projects. * To manage budgetary requirements, ensuring best value * Representation on National, Regional and Local groups * Daily overview of tasking and prioritisation of workflows. * To Chair local team meetings. * To provide support to team leaders around recruitment and selection, performance management and WMP Conversations. * To promote the Force Values by influencing team leaders and staff with regards to The Leadership Promise and People Deal. * Commitment to own Continuous Professional Development and competency maintenance. * Deliver occasional specialist training. * Ensure the provision of adequate resources to manage minimum staffing levels and service delivery. * Participation in force tactical planning and delivery meetings. * To work with Head of Department in budget planning and the procurement of equipment and services. * To be the final arbiter on any technical challenges. Knowledge & Experience Essential: * Must have extensive technical knowledge and experience of working within a Digital Forensic environment * Proven Leadership and Management ability. * A proven understanding of Health and Safety management and procedures. * Possess a valid driving licence. * An understanding of Quality Standards ISO 17020/17025 and the Forensic Science Regulators Codes of Practice. * Possess a valid driving licence. Desirable: * Experience of delivering technological innovation into business that has improved service delivery * Experience of technical support within a Digital Forensics discipline * Recognised National Forensic Qualification. * Knowledge of Criminal Justice System and the Evidential Process. * Awareness of Legal and Legislative requirements associated with Digital Evidence.
