Grade: Band C Lower Salary: 20,619 to 25,380 Closing Date: 24th June 2020 About the role: The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) formerly the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) receives DBS applications on behalf of the bodies/ organisations registered with the DBS. The primary aim of DBS is help employers make safer recruitment choices and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children through its criminal record checking and barring functions. The role of Criminal Records Officer requires a highly motivated person who is methodical, has high levels of accuracy and who is able to interrogate complex computer systems and databases to check for any information relevant to these applications. You will be required to demonstrate proven research and investigative skills, an ability to provide concise and accurate reports,an ability to interrogate computer systems, computer literacy and the flexibility to learn new packages and keep accurate and concise records, while showing attention to detail. You will need to make accurate choices based on findings. The ability to demonstrate high integrity and confidentiality is also essential. You will be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and organisational skills, be able to prioritise work and work as part of a team or on your own, with limited supervision. You must be conversant with relevant legislation and be able to work in a target focused environment and have the ability to meet daily targets.
