: Promotions Manager, The Mail on Sunday Job Title - Promotions Manager, the Mail on Sunday Reporting Structure * Directly to Head of Promotions * Role sits within the Marketing Department of The Mail Description and Background of Role The Promotions Team is tasked with delivering a calendar of offers for readers which add value to the customer experience above and beyond the editorial content found in the paper. These offers are delivered across the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and mymail.co.uk platforms. These partnerships should: * Deliver incremental customer value and get readers buying more Mail products * Increase market share of The Mail by offering incentives to get more readers to buy the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday more often * Re-enforce editorial messages and brand values to improve the relationship we have with our readers * Encourage new customers to buy The Mail and then retain them. * Drive traffic and engagement through mymail.co.uk The Opportunity To join the established Promotions team, with key areas of responsibility to deliver a compelling promotions schedule for the Mail on Sunday, incorporating the MyMail loyalty platform. Advertising and circulation revenues are in decline, so media brands are developing alternative marketing tools and products. MyMail is a key part of the strategy for Mail Newspapers. Combined weekly Print and Online audiences for the Mail are in excess of 10 million, the more we understand about these customers, the bigger our opportunity is to develop a relevant range of services and products for our customers, creating a positive relationship for the future. The Promotions Manager role will be instrumental in delivering our Promotions plan and circulation targets as well as being the key point of contact for The Mail on Sunday Editor and team. Personal Specification * Track record of delivering sales promotions which deliver incremental newspaper sales. * Detailed knowledge of mechanics that deliver successful newspaper promotions * Work well under pressure and ability to react and respond to last minute business requests * Understanding of the legal requirements for promotional activity * Ability to build and maintain good relationships with senior internal & external contacts * Broad understanding of the wider media and publishing industries * Ability to manage and develop more junior team members Key Responsibilities Specific Role Responsibilities * Work with Promotions, Partnership, MyMail and wider Marketing team teams to deliver a "best in market" calendar of in paper and MyMail added value offers * Improve the CPU of in paper promotions in The Mail with focus on increasing frequency to achieve 7 day readership and using data to improve performance * Leverage the in house space available in paper to acquire added value offers from business partners to offer Mail readers. * Develop relationships with commercial and ecommerce teams including Mail Travel, Mail Shops, and advertising to overall benefit of the business. * Build editorial relationships by responding to their requirements and demonstrating added value of offers * Delivery from concept to delivery of all Mail on Sunday promotional activity including co-ordinating between production and circulation departments * Ensure all promotions are covered by appropriate documentation and legal requirements * Build key 3rd party relationships with appropriate promotional partners * Manage and deliver all in paper and relevant marketing communication for Promotional Offers Team Role Responsibilities * Report into Head of Promotions and manage 1 x Executive * Liaise with Editorial and Marketing to discuss partnership calendar * Contact for external promotion partners and agencies working for Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday KPI's * Market Share * CPU of Promotions * Circulation of Daily Mail and TMOS * MyMail engagement and customer retention * Market leadership for the Mail on Sunday
