The role will ultimately cover Incident management, critical controls monitoring, management reporting, procedure review and process improvement. There is an advisory aspect to the role in relation to projects and change initiatives , as well as extensive engagement with the other controls functions ( Risk / Compliance / Audit ) and the wider Controls and Assurance team. Key Work Level Accountabilities: Manager or Expert: * For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders * For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise * Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk * Manages conflicts that may impact delivery * Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture * Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output * Manages resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience Key Responsibilities for this role: The Fixed Income Control Monitoring Team, as part of the first line of defence within the Fixed Income Front Office, are expected to conduct a number of key functions and controls, the most significant of which include: *Incident Management *Provision of incident management, including remediation , defining and tracking the preventative actions and long term control enhancements. *Critical Control Monitoring *Including, dealing and managing, conflicts, conduct etc, *Risk and Control Assessment *Review the documented risks, corresponding controls across the Front Office. *Conflicts of Interest *Monitoring Fixed Income conflicts of interest/conduct risks & ensuring adherence with TCF principles and policies. Maintenance of the Fixed Income conflicts of interest register *Control advice during projects/change *Provision of control environment advice in relation to change projects and/or reviews of the department (by non-front office staff, which could include clients). Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience: *Have experience of a Front Office environment, with emphasis on a good working knowledge of procedures, controls for dealing and managing funds. *Have experience in how incidents / risk events have been managed and reported (e.g. to clients). *Have experience in demonstrating an evidence-based approach (or audit-style approach) to monitoring all key front office activities with clear monthly reporting. *Ideally, have Front Office experience of market abuse and side-by-side monitoring in an asset manager. *Have strong attention to detail, evidence gathering from various systems will be required (e.g. Bloomberg, Aladdin, voice recording etc.) *Be able to flag unusual exceptions and agree mitigating actions with all relevant stakeholders. *Have a risk aware approach, with a controls mind-set. and an attention to detail *Have the ability to manage conflicts and resolve ambiguity in complex situations *Have a working understanding of the RCSA process, which would be an advantage Work Level: Manager/Expert Recruiter Name: Simone Morris Closing Date: 28/01/2020 We live by four behaviours at M&G and we ask all our employees to: * Inspire Others - Support and encourage each other, creating an environment where everyone can contribute and succeed * Embrace
