Job Description
Job Advert IJGlobal is seeking a Funds Editor to take a strong leadership role on an established beat, leading from the front with breaking news and ahead-of-the-curve thought leadership targeted at the international infrastructure fund management community. The ideal candidate will have experience of covering this dynamic sector, having previously written about infrastructure funds, tracking fundraising activity and deployment of capital across this exciting and evolving asset class. A deep understanding of the infrastructure and energy asset class will prove to be a distinct advantage for candidates, as will experience of managing and developing junior members of editorial. The Funds Editor will be responsible for all aspects of daily news as well as analysis and feature coverage of funds and institutional investors. A key element of this role is active hands-on reporting of fundraising by managers seeking to target infrastructure, energy and related assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for all content that appears on IJInvestor online and in print, as well as the publication of quarterly fundraising reports (online) that is achieved in close partnership with the data analysis team. They will lead the editorial development of IJInvestor and related data products, leading a team of journalists, evolving the product to match subscriber requirements. The Funds Editor will report to the Editor and will work closely with the Editorial Director, IJGlobal Product Manager. As required, the Funds Editor will deputise for the Editor and will partner with the events team to host and front conferences (at events and online) as required. Key responsibilities and accountabilities include: * Writing daily funds and institutional investor news and managing the flow of funds and institutional investor news from the rest of the news team * Writing funds and institutional investors related analysis and features for print and online publication * Directly managing reporters assigned to an investor-related news beat * Developing and maintaining a broad, global contact base in the infrastructure fund and institutional investor sectors * Leading development and overseeing the maintenance of a comprehensive database for all fund and institutional investor activity in the infrastructure market * Leading data-capture for IJInvestor products and continually researching the market to find underlying data on funds and institutional investors * Representing IJGlobal at events, awards, and through regular face-to-face contact with key stakeholders in the infrastructure and energy market
