Job Description
Residential Support Worker Short Breaks Service - 10 ph (Sleeps - 50) Work as a Residential Support Worker for a leading and respected physical education provider with exciting plans. We offer flexible working hours with clear career progression and training, where you can use your skills to inspire the next generation and make a difference. The Company First Step Wild provide outdoor education and intervention programs for children and young people in schools and children's homes. Our aim is to provide a bespoke short breaks service aimed at engaging the children and young people in outdoor education and sports. Connecting emotion and speech and language through our activities to promote a bright and healthy life. First Step Wild Services invests heavily in the development of its staff. All staff will receive safeguarding training and other relevant outdoor training (Map Reading, Plotting and First Aid) if required. We are also aiming to put some staff through outdoor qualifications over time to further develop their knowledge and skills. The Position We are currently recruiting for a Casual Residential Support Workers to be part of a team offering a comprehensive residential short breaks service to children and young people. The service is based within a 20-minute drive from Hull City Centre. The aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional well-being of the children/young people and assist in their positive holistic development and resilience. You will be responsible for actively safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children/young people in the home. You will also be required to promote structure, boundaries and routines within the home. You will be part of a two-person team working with one child. You will take them to different adventures activity's and at times take part. You will be responsible for logging all events and cooking and basic cleaning. Hours vary and sleep-ins will be required. Responsibilities: Provide Residential Care to Young people aged between 8 - 17 years Deliver the structured learning programme to the young people in your care Effectively log and keep records Work as part of a 2-person team Be versatile and committed to learning Be reliable and flexible Demonstrate professionalism at all times Travel to various locations and settings Knowledge and Experience Requirements Residential Childcare: 1 year (Preferred) Outdoor Activity's (Preferred) Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (Preferred) Driving License (Preferred) Why you should apply: Varied and exciting role Great culture and work environment Excellent growth and advancement opportunities Progression With experience and support, individuals could progress internally within First Step Wild.
