Job Description

As a Material Artist, you will be working alongside a talented art team, providing world class materials to be used in game. You will also work alongside the Art Leads to maintain and develop our ever-growing material library. You will be joining the studio in a key role at pivotal time as we scale up to develop an ambitious and ground-breaking open-world game. The role brings the opportunity of making a significant personal contribution to a high-profile project. We believe in iterative development, and you will need to be comfortable working in a fluid environment with competing demands. Responsibilities * Work closely with the Art Director, Art Leads and Technical Director to define and maintain material workflows. * Clearly communicate and document art production pipelines. * Shader research and development. * Oversee and develop the material library. * Produce high quality textures and materials using Substance Designer. * Work with the artists to provide the materials they need to use in their modelling pipelines. Requirements * High level of knowledge of game engine shaders and their technical capabilities * Portfolio demonstrating a wide variety of materials using both procedural and 3d sculpting techniques. * Expertise with the latest material creation pipelines. * Excellent communication skills, and comfortable working across multiple teams. * Strong interest in the latest advancements in video game graphics and visual trends. * Significant experience with 3D modelling tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, or ZBrush, in a video game environment. * Strong understanding of color theory and traditional techniques * 3 years minimum experience as a Material Artist in the games industry.
