These activities will be focussed on further developments associated with the Internal Model, and will therefore encompass regular interactions with a wide range of stakeholders including senior actuaries as well as core IT support functions Key Work Level Accountabilities: Manager or Expert: * For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders * For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise * Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk * Manages conflicts that may impact delivery * Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture * Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output * Manages resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience Key Responsibilities for this role: * Provide oversight and direction to actuarial technical developments * Lead as the Technical Manager on M&G's Internal Capital Model Project, providing expertise to ensure the delivery of the project * Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and project colleagues * This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced part qualified or fully qualified Actuary who is seeking to further develop project delivery skills as part of a strategic actuarial modelling initiative * This a 9 month secondment/fixed term contract position Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience: * Actuarial model design and implementation of complex actuarial systems * Knowledge of capital modelling methods under Solvency II is an advantage * Strong stakeholder management experience, both internal and external; * Proven experience of internal governance principles * Range of programming languages * Experience of complex actuarial implementation and transformation projects * An ability to step back and appreciate the interaction between complex individual modelling steps * Proven track record of modelling developments to a high standard * An ability to solve logical problems and explain solutions in a clear manner * Knowledge of capital modelling tools is desirable, but not essential * Excellent team player who is hard working and has a desire to mentor and train others * An ability to prioritise work both on an individual basis and also for others Work Level: Manager or Expert Recruiter Name: Emma Pryde Closing Date: 23rd June 2020 We live by four behaviours at M&G and we ask all our employees to: * Inspire Others - Support and encourage each other, creating an environment where everyone can contribute and succeed * Embrace Change - Be open to change, willing to be challenged and able to adapt quickly and imaginatively to new ideas * Deliver Results - Focus on outcomes, set high standards and deliver with energy and determination * Keep it Simple - Cut through complexity and bureaucracy, be clear and decisive and never overcomplicate things At M&G Diversity and Inclusion is a strategic objective.
