The Role At Willis Towers Watson we are currently investing in a multi-million-dollar programme to support our business in their digital ambitions. As a Cloud Engagement Consultant, you will be working with Willis Towers Watson IT and Business Unit technology teams to coordinate and evangelize the use of Cloud technologies and DevOps approaches. As a key coordination point you will be responsible for managing the relationship between business unit application and technology teams, and the centralized Cloud Enablement Architects and Engineers. This role resides in our recently established Cloud Enablement Team and provides a great opportunity to develop into more senior roles in the organisation. * Managing the relationship between your aligned business unit application and technology teams, and the centralized Cloud Enablement Architects. * Running regular progress and status calls with your aligned business units to ensure they have all the information required to effectively adopt cloud platforms and technologies. * Understanding and disseminating corporate polices, processes and initiatives that will improve the way business units make use of cloud platforms. * Assisting applications teams in understanding what centralized training and best practices resources are available to ensure all cloud deployments are optimized. * Fielding technical questions and requests for advice on Cloud adoption from business unit application and technology teams. Where the answers are not clear, you will work closely with the Cloud Enablement Architects or Engineers, or with 3rd party partners, to identify the correct answers. * Collaborating with the Cloud Programme team to coordinate migration timelines and priorities for your aligned business units. * Each cloud engagement consultant will be assigned an emerging technology area that they will be asked to research and take responsibility for developing a team position on. Over time the associate will become the specialist in this area. * Consult on the appropriate support model and ensure that all appropriate resources are available to support migrated workloads. The Requirements * To retain our strong team culture, we desire someone who thinks and works proactively, and genuinely cares about working collaboratively as part of a team. * You will have a passion for your work, a strong desire to learn and a real love of technology - with an understanding of the positive impacts it can make to a business. * Experience in either a development or infrastructure operations role. * Fundamental knowledge of IT service frameworks such as ITIL. * A fundamental understanding of Cloud platforms, terminologies and commercial models is required. * You will have the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues in a way that engages and motivates them. * The ability to work independently with new and unique ideas will be hugely beneficial. * Effective communication and documentation skills are a core requirement for this role. * Project Management skills will be a significant asset. * An ability to work across multiple business segments and contexts, and to understand that different teams will require different engagement approaches will be helpful. * Previous exposure to application development or application architecture approaches is useful. * Hands-on knowledge of any of the below technologies is not required, but would be a differentiator: Microsoft Azure - Knowledge of other Cloud platforms (such as Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, IBM Cloud, etc.) would be an added benefit. * A basic understanding of DevOps methodologies such as Agile, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, etc. * Understanding of development toolsets such as Visual Studio or similar * Have a high level understanding of coding or scripting languages * An understanding of networking concepts * Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes * Authentication technologies * Database technologies such as Microsoft SQL or Oracle DB Equal opportunity employer
