Job Description

" An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. The team are part of United Roofing Products , who are the south west's leading manufacturer and supplier of metal roofing and cladding sheets, based just off J28 on the M5 in Cullompton . What does the role involve? The successful applicant will have a key role in the team, undertaking duties such as Sales ledger invoicing, credit control and collections, new account credit reports and ongoing reviews of limits for existing customers, the timely processing of purchase invoices, credit notes and supplier statement reconciliations and maintaining our Sage database for suppliers and customers. In addition, you'll log, investigate and resolve customer and supplier queries, complete stock, debtor and creditor month end close processes and post monthly journals, carrying our reconciliations. Assisting with month end procedures, preparing monthly KPI reports, analysis and reporting, supporting with project work as required and covering for the Finance Manager when they are away from the business, means this is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated individual, who is used to working to deadlines and managing their own time. Essential Skills: We're looking for someone who is AAT qualified L4, ACCA or CIMA part qualified with practical experience within an accounting function, who has high standards of accuracy and procedural compliance. You'll need, initiative, a positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team and the ability to multi-task and plan work effectively to meet strict deadlines. The role requires strong Excel skills , as well as experience and skills using other computerised systems and excellent oral and written communication skills.
