At Moog we're focused on the customer and for us this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile. As the Senior Planner Buyer, you will develop key supplier relationships to increase performance .You'll hold supply chain master settings responsibilities for the site which includes the coordination and governance of demand driven buffer strategies for procured parts and you'll coordinate and place purchase orders for a designated group of suppliers to achieve the site operational requirements. Being highly experienced in integrated planning and order placement you will provide oversight and point of escalation to the Planner Buyers. You'll Monitor and evaluate supply chain buffer sizes over time to recommend and complete adjustment of demand driven buffer profiles and zones. In addition to this there will be times where you will be required to deputise for the site supply chain manager, representing the Supply Chain team in site meetings. You'll have worked within a similar industry environment, procuring components which means you'll understand the necessity of on time delivery, quality and cost efficiency. Your ability to effectively communicate across multiple geographical regions and cultures along with your supply chain knowledge and strong analytical and problem solving skills will ensure your success in this role. Key Expertise * A Bachelor degree level education, preferred in the fields of engineering, supply chain, or business * Greater than 5 years of progressive experience (usually post education) in the field of manufacturing or engineering (preferably Aerospace) or Supply Chain * Desired qualifications would include: Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Program Management, additional education and a Master's Degree in Business, Engineering. APICS or other industry standard certifications are a plus * An engineering or technical background is preferable * A sound understanding of ERP / MRP / DDMRP based material control systems. * Good negotiating skills, combined with knowledge of procurement processes * Good communication/organizational skills, and be able to demonstrate an ability to understand complex regulations/procedures * You must be able to deal with a variety of tasks at any one time and understand the priorities. * Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines * Supervisory experience would be beneficial, however this is not essential * There will be some expectation for UK and international travel Our people enjoy tackling interesting technical challenges in a culture where everyone trusts each other.
