Job Description

Salary: 24,975 - 29,817 per annum Permanent Contract 37 Hours per Week Working within a fast evolving Highways Team and playing a pivotal role in the management of the road network we are recruiting a Public Rights of Way Officer. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of helping to maintain the Highway function and help the broader Highways Team. Working within a team of dedicated, skilled professionals you will have a key role in assisting the Highways Team in delivering the modernisation agenda for the network management function. Main responsibilities; Management of a small team delivering and maintaining Thurrock's PROW network, management of highway records and naming and numbering of new streets. Dealing with investigation, design, planning programming and implementation of schemes within the Transport and Highways Maintenance and Delivery Programme. Key skills & experience required; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * The aptitude to work on your own initiative. * The aptitude to learn / use specialist work related software programmes. * Knowledge of GIS or similar software management systems. * Experience within a Highways environment . * A willingness to learn about all aspects of highways and engineering associated with a highway authority.
