Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the product design team and contribute to the design of our product, strategy and execution at Privitar. Privitar is a dynamic Data Privacy start-up based in London, building enterprise software to enable the safe and ethical use of valuable data for analytics and machine learning. We work with large organisations worldwide in healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, pharma and government, enabling them to get the most out of data without compromising on privacy. Backed by world-leading venture capital funds who've invested in high-growth companies like Facebook, Slack, Dropbox, Atlassian and Spotify, we have just completed a $80 million Series C funding round, and are in a phase of hyper-growth. We believe that a great user experience is at the heart of any successful product. This is especially true in the emerging field of Data Privacy. This is an urgent, new problem in our data-driven society, and calls for a new approach to how data is used. We're creating novel software to solve this problem, and our goal is to make it easy for enterprises to cut through the complexity and do the right thing by their customers, while continuing to innovate with data. As a Product Designer we want you to be a driving force in gathering insight into our users' needs, behaviours and intentions. You'll translate this into interface designs which make a subtle and complex problem easy to manage. You will be a key member of the product team, responsible for product design and user experience, working closely with customers, engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the product cycle. We are looking for a product designer passionate about crafting elegant practical experiences and clear interfaces with pixel perfect precision that solve real world user problems in data protection and security. You understand the critical role design plays within a users experience and its relationship to business goals. You are goal oriented and think about the wider picture collaborating well with cross discipline team members. You have a strong grounding in user centered design process (UCD) showing huge empathy for the audience and continually seek feedback for improvement. You thrive in a fast but thorough environment ensuring quality and delivering value to users. What you'll do * Help build Design culture at a hyper-growth tech company. * Use design methods to understand and reframe the multiple problem spaces in data protection and security. * Work in cross functional teams partnering closely with engineering, product and business people to craft elegant and practical solutions to design challenges. * Be autonomous, taking ownership of your work and be responsible for every detail throughout the discovery, concept, test to delivery lifecycle. * Rapidly produce pixel perfect UI and concepts, prototypes and low-fi sketches that progress and refine the experience of the Privitar platform. * Evolve and maintain a design system approach and UCD process. * Execute research activities that deliver insights including and testing your own concepts. * Introduce and iterate on product features based on user research and business goals. * Contribute to building a strong and successful design team. Who you are * You have 5+ years of experience working as a Product Designer, UI and or UX designer. You're a user focused, "swiss army knife" designer, capable of working across UX research, interaction design, information architecture, visual design. * You have experience in a Product Design organisation and making trade-off decisions with engineers, prioritising work flows and validating concepts through growing with a product over multiple years. * You're rigorous in delivery of quality from conception to execution. * You love building and working with design systems. * You constantly seek user feedback to hone your design craft. * You're experienced in collaborating and delivering with engineering teams. * You enjoy crafting and conducting user research activities and disseminating valuable insights across the company. * You're a clear communicator and constructive in review sessions for design, research and engineering. Desirable * Experience or interest in data visualisation or information visualisation. * Experience of working in a B2B tech startup. * Solid academic background with a degree specializing in design and or human-computer interaction.
