Job Overview Edward House is a 20 bedded low secure male rehab unit located in Chelmsford. Following the recent merger to form the new organisation Essex Partnership University Trust, there are exciting opportunities to work closely with other teams to provide an exemplary service to patients, their carers and families. Responsibilities * To work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering 24 hr mental health access and information in the locality of the Trust. The service will be 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for 365 days a year working shifts in an in-patient setting. * To act as a role model to colleagues and students * Work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team. * To deliver high quality, effective operational service to people with mental health needs in the Central locality, in accordance with the principles and objective of the Trust and its vision as identified in the service. The job requires the post holder to work flexibly and undertake a change in role at short notice. * To work collaboratively with others within the new organization to provide an exemplary level of care to service users and their carers. Qualifications/ Professional requirement NVQ Level II Direct Care Academic attainments to GCSE Level or above. You will be required to undertake and successfully complete the new national Care Certificate within a 12 week time frame for which you will receive full training and support at basic or higher level depending on previous experience. The Care Certificate sets out 15 new national care standards that must be achieved by all health and social staff to demonstrate that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide safe and excellent quality of care. This is a condition of your continued employment and must be achieved by the end of your first 6 months of employment. If you already have a national care certificate you will be required to evidence this at interview.
