Overview
Job Description
Due to internal promotion and further expansion of our cardiac services, we are pleased to be able to offer a position for a cardiac physiologist here at the Dorset Heart Centre. We have a wide range of invasive and non-invasive services here at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Our non-invasive services comprise of a busy ECG department, Ambulatory BP and ECG analysis and regular exercise tolerance testing sessions. We have recently undergone a large refurbishment program which has seen all 4 of our cardiac catheter labs (two of which are equipped for EP) completely re-fitted to a high standard. We are one of the Top 5 centres in the country for PCI activity based at a DGH, utilising techniques such as laser atherectomy, rotablation and complex CTO cases. Our labs are equipped with integrated IVUS, pressure wire capabilities, shockwave and OCT/OFDI. We regularly provide national and international study days for complex PCI and Laser cases. Our 24/7 Primary PCI service is well established and constantly meets the national targets. We provide an electrophysiology and tachy service for a population of 1 million and our brady pacing service and ICD implantation, make us one of the biggest Device centres in the UK. Our services are supported by 11 Consultant Cardiologists, including 3 specialist EP Consultants and 5 clinical fellows. We are proud to be a BSE accredited department providing a busy Echocardiography service which performs over 11,000 diagnostic scans per year. We are a forward thinking team that consistently strive to improve and develop our services and encourage all team members to actively engage in this process. We support the training and development of our staff in order to ensure a high clinical standard throughout the team.
