Job Description

The Trust Women and Children's Operational Group provides Gynaecology In-patient and Out Patient care across our 2 sites as well as caring for ladies attending our Centre for Reproductive Medicine, which will also be within your remit. Due to the retirement of our current Matron, we are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and forward thinking individuals to lead, develop and improve patient experience. You must have a proven track record of progressive leadership and development, be an effective role model and be self-motivated with the passion, drive and adaptability to cope with continuously changing services. You will need to work closely with Ward Managers, other Group Matrons, Group Director of Nursing and Associate Director of Nurses. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be visible and accessible with quality and standards as your priority. You will need to be sufficiently flexible and resilient to cope with the demands of the role. In addition, you must be able to influence and negotiate to improve the service your teams provide. Evidence of continuing professional development is essential. [You will support and develop the nursing workforce, ensuring your ward and department managers and their teams are valued and skilled. In return, you will have your own support, tailored to meet your individual needs. This setting offers huge potential to further develop your clinical, leadership and management skills. Applicants will have demonstrable post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting and, preferably, a real passion for Women's Health Services.
