Care UK are looking to appoint a skilled and motived, substantive, full time Pharmacy Technician for HMP The Verne. HMPs The Verne is a Category 'C' prison on the Isle of Portland, on the Jurassic coast for people on longer sentences who have been convicted of sexual offences. The population reflects the offender group with an older age of patient compared with other prisons. You'll be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service's needs. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, who forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. Care UK policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting, will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to patients in line with National Guidelines. The Job Requirements... You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent qualifications and must have a current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team. You'll be able to demonstrate assessment skills, including undertaking of risk assessments and have sound patient counselling skills, treating patients with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach. You will become part of a small, dedicated team of healthcare practitioners with a chance to make a difference to individual patients with a high level of autonomy in a multi-disciplinary team context. You will be a key contributor to the design and function of future services. You will belong to an important service working with a challenging and vulnerable patient group, able to make full use of the skills and knowledge you have developed over your career. Salary and Benefits... The salary range is up to 30,000 per annum - dependent on experience.
