Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity Dental Director (Ref: 23969) Full Time " 37.5 hours per week Fixed term for 9 months Salary Range £77,891 - £82,541 per annum Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity Dental Director (Ref: 23969) Full Time - 37.5 hours per week Fixed term for 9 months Salary Range £77,891 - £82,541 per annum We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills to manage the strategic provision of oral healthcare for residents of Shetland and to champion the improvement of the dental health of the population. You will need a proven track record in change management in order to lead Dental Services through the recovery period of the Covid-19 pandemic. This will include being linked into the development of a new Board Clinical Strategy including an updated Oral Health Strategy. You will also be a driver for the recovery and development of on island specialist services which is a key strategic direction for the Health Board. You will provide leadership to the established workforce, in developing and implementing clinical governance standards alongside a focus on delivering high quality, person-centred oral health care. The role requires a dentist with experience in the strategic management of primary care dental services, with a desire to implement change to achieve the highest standards of care and the ability to provide expert guidance and direction on dental issues to the NHS Shetland Board. There is dedicated support from the Dental Senior Management Team who are collectively responsible for the operational management of the service. You will maintain your clinical skills on a regular sessional basis, including any special interests where possible. In addition to basic hours, the job holder would be expected to join the out of hours emergency rota and to travel off-island on occasion for national meetings. Remuneration will include basic salary, plus allowances for out of hours, distant islands and remote areas. This appointment will be for a fixed-term for a period of 9 months to allow for ongoing workforce planning and review of the establishment.
