Job Description
Join our Emergency Medicine Consultant Team! Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine 11 PAs Kingston Hospital is a high performing and clinically led acute hospital providing healthcare to around 350,000 people in South West London and North West Surrey. Our Emergency Department cares for around 105,000 patients every year. We are now looking for a locum Consultant to join our expanding team. The department has had two capital projects approved for an extension of its Majors and Resus area as well as a co-located Urgent Care Centre . Both of these were complete by the Winter of 2018. The department also has a modern, 6-bedded Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) that opened in November 2016. The CDU is currently the location for the Same Day Emergency Care Unit - a unit for the ambulatory care of many different specialties with sub-specialty in reach. The service has successfully recruited three permanent Consultants in 2016 and has received a significant investment in its workforce model for 2017/18 with 3.5 WTE clinical matrons, Band 6 nurses and significant boost to the SAS and junior doctor ranks in anticipation of any increases in activity. You will play a central role our Emergency Department. This will include being the Consultant in Charge, including CDU and SDEC responsibilities and contributing to the on-call rota. You will also have flexible protected time to carry out professional activities (2.5 SPAs), including department audits, training, attending specialty meetings and contributing to the department governance. In addition to the basic salary, on-call availability supplement and London weighting.
