You are required to work collaboratively in a safe, care and respectful way. As a Registered General Nurse you will work within the Medical Day Unit at the University Hospital Crosshouse. This is an exciting time for The University Hospital Crosshouse expansion of the Medical Day Unit and we are looking for a highly motivated individual who has experience in medical nursing. The University Hospital Crosshouse is currently expanding the existing Medical Day Unit and we are looking for dedicated staff who have a passion for providing excellent quality care for patients who require day case treatment. Procedures include venesection/infusion therapies such as monofer/venofer and blood transfusions. The Medical Day Unit will also care for patients who have undergone renal/liver/lung biopsy and require post biopsy care, as well as a wide range of other procedures. You will be involved in the delivery of the highest standards of care to patients undergoing day case treatments. You must possess clinical skills such a phlebotomy and have competence in the management of high risk infusions. It is required that you have problem solving skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, the main ones being staff and patients. There will be a requirement to book patients into the electronic diary, to be able to assess the daily bookings and effectively deploy staff accordingly therefore knowledge/awareness of PMS is required. You must be organised and able to adapt to the changing needs of the developing service as a whole. You must be enthusiastic and motivated, adaptable and flexible in accordance with the changing demands. Hours: There is two 34.5 hours per week posts which are 11.5 hour shifts over a 5 day rota.
