Job Description
Mental health is now much more openly talked about and recognised as integral to a person's overall health and wellbeing. People care, and they care about mental health services on offer. Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) aims to be in the top quarter of mental health trusts nationally for the quality and safety of care by 2023. To do that, we need to develop our communications team. Our Trust vales of Positively, Respectfully and Together sum up perfectly what this role encompasses by placing the service user, patient and carer at the forefront of everything we do. We are looking for a Media Manager who can develop strong relationships with service users, partners and people working in the Trust. We are looking for someone who can listen, understand, and communicate kindly, compassionately, accurately and fairly. The successful candidate will be able to handle highly sensitive, confidential or contentious information. They will be able to demonstrate behaviours that support our values: Positively, Respectfully, Together. Your responsibilities would be to develop the Trust's media plan with service users across Norfolk and Suffolk and help make sure that there are effective two-way communications between the Trust and its stakeholders. You will already be well practiced at ensuring a multi-media approach to content by working with colleagues in the team to deliver social media, staff and partner messages to support media messaging where appropriate. You will have at least five years' experience or training in journalism or communications up to degree level. However most importantly and in keeping with our trust values of vales of Positively, Respectfully and Together, we are looking for someone who has exceptional people skills as this role requires you to make difficult decision whilst having to maintain professional relationships. Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust has bases in Norwich and Ipswich, and successful candidates will be able to travel across the two counties. NSFT has 4,000 staff providing mental health care and wellbeing services from more than 50 sites where we treat more than 25,000 service users a year. Interviews will be held on July 3.
