As part of our commitment, in our Global Financial Crimes Division (GFCD), we are consolidating and improving key elements of our global financial crime detection and prevention operations by creating a network of Centres of Excellence (CoEs). Our CoEs will enable us to increase and enhance the effectiveness of our operational financial crime prevention and detection expertise and oversight, by consolidating and focusing the knowledge, capabilities, insight and experience of our people along with refined and improved processes, training and technologies. We want to work with ambitious, energetic, service-focused people with experience of working in Financial Crime, who are dedicated to protecting our customers - and the wider global economy, while developing world-class anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) skills and capabilities. The Financial Crimes Office for EMEA (FCOE) in London is part of the Global Financial Crimes Division headquartered in New York. It works to ensure that our organisation conducts its business such that we protect our reputation, our business, and our clients within the regulatory and legal framework. It is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of effective systems and controls to protect clients' assets and to mitigate the risk that MUFG might be used to further financial crime. This is a key role in the CoE Technology team that provides technical systems support and advice to the SME in the business and liaises with the Systems functions in EMEA and manages a small team that delivers AML system stewardship and change management. NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS 2 MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE As a member of the CoE Technology team, provide the following services to the FCOE department: * Contribute to the testing and monitoring of the activities of the firm's customers and transactions to help minimise the risk that the group is used for financial crime * Support the delivery of system enhancements and upgrade projects * Support tuning of existing systems and reduction of false positives in EMEA Financial Crime. This role's stakeholders are EMEA Technology, EMEA Operations and the SME teams in Sanctions and AML as well as the teams in the CoE and GFCD in New York. It also includes the Securities business. Financial Crime Office of EMEA Technology Team Key Responsibilities The purpose of the role will be to ensure that all AML transaction monitoring and case management systems across the region, and associated work processes are working correctly i.e. as expected and appropriately. Responsibilities include managing systems post implementation, testing and support for system implementations and upgrades, effectiveness testing, assurance reviews and responding to ad hoc issues. Additional responsibilities include driving forward the Global Tuning Programme for EMEA for all AML monitoring systems in the region and responding to ad hoc requests as required. This role is as much about hands on technology as it is about supporting the wider team in building trust with key AML stakeholders and fostering engagement in AML technology change projects. In addition to the duties described above, you will contribute to the work of the Financial Crime Office of EMEA in any other ways reasonably expected, including memberships of projects and working groups and assisting with other priorities in the department or group as a whole. Key Responsibilities: You are primarily responsible for: * Validating the effectiveness and accuracy of all AML systems used to prevent financial crime across the region. * Stress testing systems to ensure their effectiveness (including strategic business changes and new products); testing AML systems to ensure that parameters are working as expected and are effective. * Coordinating testing and tuning of AML systems across the region to ensure consistency of system performance for all EMEA branches. * Reporting and presenting to management on identified risks and industry trends for enhancement * Taking a lead role in upgrading key AML systems, including design and implementation of User Acceptance Testing * Ensuring regional compliance with governance requirements as stated in the Global Technology Standard.
