Job Description
Job Title: Trust Grade SHO in Neurological Rehabilitation Medicine (RM) Alderbourne Rehabilitation Unit The Alderbourne Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is a 20 bed district specialist rehabilitation unit that has been providing inpatient and outpatient services to the residents of Hillingdon and adjoining areas for the past 25 years. The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation trust is seeking to recruit a Trust doctor/SHO to support the Consultant in RM, Consultant in Neurology and the multidisciplinary team. All the consultants work at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as well and the unit works closely with the Charing Cross Neurological Rehabilitation Unit. Summarise responsibilities: The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the 20 inpatients. This will include attending weekly consultant ward rounds and the inter-disciplinary ward meeting. Duties will include reviewing the inpatients attending Case Conferences, ordering and following up on relevant investigations, documentation in the medical records and ensuring the electronic and multidisciplinary discharge letters are completed on time. A sound general medical experience and communication skills are essential. The candidate will have the opportunity to attend neurology clinics under the supervision of a consultant neurologist. The post holder will be supported by a full time registrar in Rehabilitation Medicine and a GP trainee. The post will be for 6 months in the first instance. Opportunity exists for the post holder to participate in audit, grand rounds in the department of medicine at Hillingdon and relevant training.
