Job Description

t Children and Families Services are currently recruiting to the opportunity of Unit Co-ordinator within the Children and Families Service. This exciting and varied role will be pivotal to the successful provision of a first class business support service and supporting practitioners to provide excellent services to children and families in Hackney. You will act as the central point of contact within a unit, to a team of social workers, the children and families allocated to your team and external partners. Your role is to carry out a number of key administrative duties vital to the efficient running of your unit. Using your skills to prioritise and organise, you will support the team in the delivery of its objectives by arranging unit meetings, minute taking of unit meetings, arranging monetary support and other resources for children and families, liaising with external contract providers, and ensuring that all recorded data is accurate and up-to-date. You will proactively assist in resolving issues promptly wherever possible, ensuring that the team is fully briefed of any issues that arise. You will also provide comprehensive support for other multi-agency meetings and supporting other Unit Coordinators within the service. Successful candidates will be: Positive and motivated Able to work flexibly, both individually and as part of a team Experienced in providing high quality, confidential and proactive secretarial and administrative support busy social workers Able to collate, analyse and update data from internal and external sources Able to synthesise and accurately record high quality systemic discussions concerning children and families in a timely manner Able to present complex information in a timely manner and in a variety of formats including Excel and PowerPoint. Able to use Google Docs effectively to administer and present information, and be a superuser for the unit Able to use the Council's financial administration systems to order goods and services as appropriate. Able to communicate confidently, effectively and assertively with people at all levels, verbally and in writing. Able to manage a variety of demanding tasks simultaneously to achieve deadlines and targets.
