Overview
Job Description
To provide leadership and expert advice on all aspects of clinical governance and to be responsible for ensuring that all necessary frameworks are in place and functioning effectively to support the development of and adherence to Clinical Governance at all professional levels within the Trust. To develop proactive relationships with Care Groups & Services to foster sharing of best practice and corporate learning. To secure an effective system of quality governance which fully meets the requirements of the quality governance assessment framework set by the foundation trust regulator Monitor, and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission. To be responsible for the overall strategic development and direction of a robust clinical audit and quality improvement programme within the Trust ensuring that this meets all national and local requirements set by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership and assessed by the Care Quality Commission. To develop framework of departmental reporting and improvement of benchmarked healthcare outcomes To develop and embed standardised systems and processes across the Trust for mortality review, ensuring that all relevant national guidance is fully implemented. To establish and maintain collaborative working relationships across the Trust with clinical governance/audit leads and where appropriate with all local and national external organisations on clinical governance issues and activity to ensure quality of care and patient safety. To support the Trust in creating and developing a culture of continuous improvement that is consistently applied across all clinical and support services and enable delivery of the strategic vision and business objectives. To ensure that a strong clinical governance culture is developed / maintained across the Trust and that poor practice is challenged and best practice is shared and championed.
