Technical Product Owner

Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to bridge the needs and desires of our customers and the capabilities of our technology to bring products to life. You'll join the Product team, where you'll be at the centre of shaping innovative products that meet our customers' needs. Working closely with our Operations, Marketing, and Engineering teams, you'll learn the ins-and-outs of our customer base and technology to create valuable, disruptive FinTech products. You will work closely with the Product Manager and technical teams to define requirements, epics, user stories for new product development. Your duties will include driving the end-to-end product lifecycle, specifically understanding customer needs, requirements analysis, definition, prioritisation and sprint planning over implementation acceptance to lifecycle KPIs (following Agile methodologies). You will be based at our Moray House office on Great Titchfield Street (GTS), just around the corner from lively Oxford Street. Moray House is home to our Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Risk, Data, Talent, and Compliance teams, so there is always a lot going on! It's a busy and diverse environment where everyone rolls up their sleeves and gets stuck in. You may, from time to time, be required to work at our Sunley House office in Croydon, where our Operations, HR, and Customer Services teams are based, 5 minutes from Croydon train station, Sunley is a vibrant space which has recently received a much-deserved make-over (including the installation of a games room!). You will educate technical teams on objectives and milestones and set priorities for Stories for sprints with a deep understanding of features, functions and use of technical products. * Execute product vision (with the Product Manager) * Contribute significantly to defining the product roadmap with end-to-end product lifecycle responsibility and operational KPI management * Consult with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions that add value to product set * Create epics, user stories, ensuring that engineering teams understand the purpose and objectives, business need and value * Prepare wireframes and specs for technical teams * Help to identify technical solutions * Closely collaborate with engineers, UI/UX, Product Manager to ensure end-to-end designs for features, capabilities and deliverables aligned with overall platform strategy, architecture capabilities, technical dependencies and best practices * Proactively communicate progress to stakeholders and lead the resolution of questions and blockers during execution * Leverage analytics to envision and propose product improvements To be successful in this role, you'll need to be either a product manager/owner who has developed technical skills or a technical engineer who has fallen in love with the product side of the business. * Strong communicator, skilled at working with both technical and business teams, tailoring message and communication style to fit internal audience * Business analyst with solution design and technical knowledge * Clear, logical thinker able to define and communicate expectations, objectives and vision for product * Analytical thinker able to find, digest, report and communicate on product usage and identify areas of growth and improvement in the product set * Technical and/or professional qualifications * Successful delivery as a product manager / product owner * Hands on experience working with Agile methodologies What you'll get in return * a competitive salary * flexible work arrangements * private health care * enrolment in our pension scheme * a fantastic office in the centre of London * free tea, coffee and snacks * regular team lunches * the chance to help shape the company as we continue to grow and expand Who is Oakam?
