An exciting opportunity has arisen for Experienced Upholstery & Furniture Technicians within Castelan. Our technicians work based from home throughout the UK and are supplied with their own vans and uniforms and all tools and training required to fulfill the role. This advert is set as being based in Weston Super Mare but that is only our Head Office address and not where we are advertising for. ROLE PROFILE Role Title Furniture Technician Department Network Responsible to Area Manager (Field) Company Castelan Ltd Job Function Furniture Technician ROLE PURPOSE To provide our customers with a prompt, courteous and professional furniture repair service in close liaison with our internal support team; to promote and protect the good name of the Company. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Visit customers in their homes or other specified places to inspect upholstery, leather furniture cabinets and beds to determine the cause of the problem and recommend/undertake corrective action. * To record all information required on relevant company documentation and return these to head office by specified deadlines. * To carry out authorised repairs to upholstery, leather furniture, cabinets and beds within agreed time limits and standards. * Aim to achieve a first visit fix rate and replacement ratio as required for your band in line with the companies pay progression criteria. * To achieve the targets set for the sale of all care kits (When applicable). * To feedback any ideas, innovations or information which will add value to the company. * Maintain a professional appearance and attitude and ensure that repair sundries are stocked to the agreed levels. * Ensure your company vehicle is maintained and cleaned as per the company vehicle policy statement. * Any other reasonable tasks as requested by your Line Manager/s and/or Group Director. EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED Essential * Minimum to 2 years generalist working experience supported by 3 years training in general upholstery (e.g. apprenticeship or college) * 21 years of age or over with a valid driving licence containing no more 6 penalty points. * A good standard of general health and mobility. * Have some repair experience of leather, hard furniture and polishing. * Repaired a range of products/models from different manufacturers. * Previous face-to-face interaction with customers/clients. CORE COMPETENCIES Communication * The ability to communicate confidentially with customers to resolve problems/disputes. * The ability to accurately and legibly report on work required/undertaken. * The ability to assess each job correctly particularly with regard to colour matching to ensure first visit fix rates remain high. * Attention to detail Apply for this Job
