Job Introduction Registered Mental Health Nurse at Maes-y-dderwen - BANK** Hourly Rate: 17.73* *This includes accrued annual leave entitlement **Your services as a Bank Nurse are on an ad hoc and casual basis. This means that while the company will try to give you as much notice as possible when offering work, there is no obligation on the part of the company to provide such work and no obligation for you to accept any work so offered. This is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and new skills in complex care. Variety of hours available, Monday to Sunday. * 8 am until 2 pm * 7.45 am until 8.15 pm * 7.45 pm until 8.15 am The aim at Maes-Y-Dderwen is to meet the individual needs of every resident. To achieve this we use a person centred approach to care where the focus is on the strengths of the service users rather than pathology. Within the home there is a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship between service user and care staff. We recognise that the service users, despite the fact that they are suffering from a mental illness, have the capacity to learn, grow, change and enjoy their lives. All of them are supported to integrate fully with the local community and to take advantage of its social, educational and recreational opportunities. It is the challenge for those working at the unit to maximise those opportunities. Maes-Y-Dderwen is a dynamic and exciting place for both the service users to live in and for our staff to work in. The service we offer is diverse and specialised. All our practice is evidence based and reflects the key principles of the National Service Frameworks for mental illness. The Ideal Candidate As a Registered Nurse you will have a minimum of 6 to 12 months nursing experience, and be passionate about delivering person centred care. You will have current NMC registration, up to date clinical practices, and evidence of continual professional development. You will provide excellent clinical support and supervision to your team to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient running of the service. You will be given support and training to develop your clinical skills and management skills, including opportunities to gain qualifications at Masters level.
