Date added: 26-May-2020 Location: Winchester, HAM, GB Company: Shared Services Partnership Job Details: Salary Range: 20,960 - 23,590 per annum Work Location: St. George's Chambers, Winchester Hours per week: 37 Contract Type: Temporary (2 years) Closing Date : 17 June 2020 Interview Date: 25 June 2020 Following the successful roll out of the unique and innovative Youth Commission's Cyber Ambassadors programme we are looking to recruit a second Cyber Ambassador Coordinator to extend the highly successful scheme to secondary schools and youth settings across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton. The Cyber Ambassador scheme enables skilled-up, informed pupils to educate and offer advice and support to their peers on staying safe online. You would be responsible for training the ambassadors in schools to roll out the training to their peers in a range of areas including: cyber bullying, cyber stalking, grooming and sexting. Good planning and project management skills are essential as well as an aptitude to engage with teachers and young people. Planning and managing your time to deliver the programme is important. You would work closely with the primary school Cyber Ambassador Coordinator, Youth Commission project officer and the wider Communications and Engagement Team at the Police and Crime Commissioner's office. The contract is for the period of two years with the possibility to be extended. Please note this is a politically restricted position. Role Responsibilities: * To embed the Cyber Ambassador programme in the education and youth sector and deliver the scheme across education and youth settings, including those working with vulnerable young people. This includes creating online resources and short films to share across our network of schools * Work with the scheme coordinator for the primary schools to ensure there is a seamless offer onto the secondary school programme * Work with young people and existing Cyber Ambassadors to develop the current and relevant resources, and produce new materials where required to keep pace with this rapid change * Create regular messaging for social media that provides cyber safety information for a wider audience * Ensuring effective planning and project management, and that the project is delivered on time and within budget * Administration of the training programme, working with existing ambassadors to prepare for the training sessions, and liaising with organisations to monitor how the scheme is being delivered and received * Working with the wider Communications and Engagement team, the development and delivery of a marketing plan to recruit schools to the scheme will be essential * Obtain digital imagery and film for use in promotion of proactive communications, engagement and marketing activities and for social media. In addition, you will be responsible for the organisation of the celebration events for those who complete the scheme * Working with the Performance and Information team to complete an evaluation which will contribute to the bid for further funding enabling for continuation of the Cyber Ambassador scheme, and to also build and act upon the recommendations as identified from the Cyber Ambassadors evaluation * Work with colleagues in the OPCC and partner organisations such as local authorities, CISCO, Hampshire Constabulary and CEOP, to develop opportunities for cyber safety work and to share best practice and learning * Liaising with and coordinating the volunteers in their role * Connect and support the Youth Commission's activities during quieter periods, to inform upon current issues that can be addressed by the scheme and provide an opportunity to connect in with young people Key Decision Making Areas in the Role * Identify education and youth organisations to participate in the Cyber Ambassador scheme * Ensure the Cyber Ambassador scheme is up to date and delivered in the most appealing way to the audience, utilising creativity and flexibility in delivery and learning * Plan and coordinate the use of resources to ensure the delivery of the project to achieve the best outcomes within available resources and time constraints, prioritising tasks as required * Professional advice to senior managers, colleagues, partners and interest groups on cyber safety Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience: * Qualified to GCSE or equivalent * Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with partner organisations * Ability to use Microsoft Office package * Experience of working with young people * Effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, networking and negotiation skills and the ability to influence others, possibly from other teams, for managing projects * Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work to, and meet, tight deadlines. Flexibility to respond quickl
