Job Description

Dorset Work Matters is jointly delivered by Dorset HealthCare NHS University Foundation Trust and Dorset Mental Health Forum (and other partners such as the Local Authority), to provide evidence based employment support to people with enduring mental health problems. This role is an exciting opportunity to support individuals with enduring mental health problems to gain competitive paid employment using the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model. This will include: identifying individuals job goals and skills, writing CVs and application forms, preparing individuals for interviews, discussing what they might want to say to employers about their health condition, providing welfare benefits calculations and engaging with employers. You will work directly with employers to secure employment opportunities, and subsequently to provide ongoing support according to both employees and employer's needs. The role is based within the Bournemouth East Community Mental Health team however the majority of your time will be spent in the local community. This is a community based role where the employment specialist may be meeting in libraries, coffee shops and homes to work with them on job applications, interview skills etc. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of 40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
