Job Purpose: Governance and oversight of complex processes and integration of technology capabilities and business recovery requirements to ensure continual operations in the event of disaster or interruption of information processing services. Responsibilities: Consults with individuals throughout the organization on the recovery process. Evaluates the business recovery plans for recovery weaknesses and recommends necessary modifications to ensure regulatory compliance and the ability to recover vital business. Provides input into platform selection, version implementation, software product recommendation, and usage of enhanced functionality. Uses knowledge and expertise of existing technical skills (infrastructure and/or development) to make recommendations for opportunities to share data and/or reduce data redundancies. Provides consultative assistance, working with internal product managers, subject matter experts, and business units to determine the best recovery and resilience to effectively enhance the banks most complex products or services. Consults and identifies complex issues and root cause analysis following disaster recovery testing events or identification of resilience gaps. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to address recovery and resilience concerns and oversee proper resolution of technical deficiencies. Collaborates and consults with application production services and infrastructure groups in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment to drive recovery design procedures in line with business requirements. Contributes to the definition of standards, processes and procedures to be used in the recovery from a disaster or an extended interruption of information processing services. Manages high-impact and complex projects in working with the businesses to improve controls that would mitigate any deficiencies. Ensure controls meet regulatory and organizational standards. Analyses repeat incident patterns in conjunction with problem management teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity enhancements. Works with vendors to ensure efficient engagement in recovery and resilience efforts. Manages the development of corporate business recovery plans and testing to ensure the corporation can respond to any major interruption to its critical business. Assists in the development of contractual agreements with recovery vendors for all entities of the corporation. Works with business units to develop and ensure effective business recovery plans that allow critical business functions to be resumed within defined timetables and acceptable risk factors. Educates users on the corporation's business recovery planning software and recovery methodology. Monitors and reports all planning activity and reporting statistic results to senior management and financial regulatory groups to ensure corporate compliance for regulatory and audit. Keeps abreast of industry-related disaster recovery processes and evaluating the effectiveness of implementing changes to existing practices. Requirements: 8-10 years of experience in business/disaster recovery required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus; strong and varied technical experience required (e.g. mainframe, distributed platforms, storage/backup solutions, replication technologies, architectural design) Strong experience operating complex technical recovery testing methodologies - designing, assessing, executing and documenting disaster recovery testing and training plans Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree or CBCP certification is beneficial What we can offer you: Challenging, fun and supportive environment 25 days holiday (in addition to Bank Holidays) plus opportunity to purchase up to 5 extra days Highly competitive benefits package including pension and private medical cover
