Job Description

NHS Grampian is seeking a physicist to coordinate and support the NHS contribution to the University of Aberdeen MSc programs in Medical Physics and Medical Imaging. The successful applicant will receive an appropriate honorary University appointment and, for appropriate candidates, the possibility exists to register for a PhD part-time with the University of Aberdeen. The post holder will act as a conduit between the Medical Physics Department and the University of Aberdeen's School of Medicine, Medical Sciences & Nutrition. The primary task will be to act as course coordinator for a number of MSc courses and be responsible for reviewing and co-ordinating the course content on an ongoing basis. The post holder will also be expected to:  organise the Department's teaching contributions  coordinate access to NHS facilities for the practical components of the MSc course  participate in clinical development projects  support clinical trial activity  develop his/her own research interests  supervise MSc (and potentially PhD) projects This post requires a good Honours Degree in an appropriate physical science and a relevant postgraduate degree (MSc and/or PhD). Applicants should be registered as a Clinical Scientist with the HCPC or be on a recognised training scheme and within 6 months of obtaining registration.
