We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join us at our Site in Reading / Hichrom. The role will be primarily the late shift (1445 pm - 2300 pm). Reporting to: Laboratory Production Manager Job duties and responsibilities: + To ensure both your own and your colleague's safety, by working in accordance to all relevant Production and Environmental, Health & Safety procedures, promptly reporting any incidents or accidents to a manager + To undertake process operations under minimal supervision of a senior member of staff, in accordance with all relevant production procedures and process instructions + Follow process procedures diligently, and give feedback for process improvements + All work areas to be kept clean to ensure an uncontaminated and organised environment + Perform basic routine maintenance and report any issues to the Facilties Manager to minimise instrument downtime. + Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues, particularly supporting colleagues to cover workload during breaks and across shifts Qualifications, knowledge and competencies: + Good level of education, including English and Maths. + Strong practical skills. + Ability to work as part of a team, as well as being self-motivated and being able to use initiative. + Capability to prioritise workload and multi-task. + High level of attention to detail. + Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions. + A commitment to quality standards and the importance of following procedures. + Resilience to work under sustained pressure. Environmental working conditions & Physical effort: This role is predominantly laboratory based however some degree of lifting and heavy work is likely with the daily moving of equipment, machinery and supplies. We offer a full time permanent role with a starting salary of 20000 per annum plus 20 shift allowance per day for each shift worked on the late shift (1445pm - 2300pm).
