Do you want to work for a caring organisation that believes in people? Do you want to make a difference? As an Engagement Worker with Change Grow Live you'll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be by delivering an assertive engagement service for the Entry to Drug and Alcohol Service (EDAS) provision. The post holder will work with service users who are experiencing issues with their substance misuse across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. EDAS workers enable individuals to talk through any drug or alcohol problem and determine their own goals and plan. The service will provide a brief assessment and will discuss options around ongoing treatment and support available to meet individual's needs You will be required to work in partnership with a range of services across statutory and voluntary sectors along with other CGL staff to provide and deliver a range of engagement services. Work will include providing advice, support and brief interventions as well as producing referrals and appropriate signposting. The post holder will be required to work flexibly across a number of operational sites where necessary. They will also be required to work flexibly within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision. This will include early morning, evening and weekend working. The service will be user-focused and aspirational in its work with service users to realise their identified goals including the attainment of the highest quality of life possible, social reintegration and sustained recovery from problematic substance use. Developing and nurturing good relationships and protocols, you will work in a multi-agency setting and with the local community ensuring a seamless service delivery through close working partnerships.
