Job SummaryAvantor provide a broad variety of on-site Laboratory/Support Services for a major pharmaceutical customer. These services range from centralised glass washing and research technician activities to Warehousing and Global distribution.Avantor has over 1000 employees globally and we currently have an opening for a Delivery Technologist to provide support within the Bulk Chemical and GMP Warehouse Facility at AstraZeneca's Macclesfield site.Role Scope: The role will be split between two areas. A bulk chemical warehouse where the candidate will receive, sample and store bulk solvent and solid chemical deliveries. A GMP warehouse where global requests for materials from AstraZeneca scientists and collaborators are processed and distributed. Both these areas work to strict GMP regulations and adhere to AstraZeneca and Avantor health and safety requirements. Key Tasks + Receive, locate and store materials in line with documented procedures into the relevant Inventory Management systems + Follows SHE and GMP standards and be personably accountable for own actions + Authoring and updating key documentation + Responsible for delivering individual projects/targets in a timely manner + Ensure all relevant activities (e.g. request set-up, label generation, packing, labelling, warehousing and distribution) are executed on time and in line with written procedures and GMP requirements + Ensuring compliance of activities performed are in adherence with defined schedules, GMP and quality agreements + Contribute to deviation investigations + Responsible for coordination and execution of shipping activities + Collaborate with key suppliers and partners on a daily basis + Support both Clinical and Commercial manufacture using appropriate processes + React to daily issues and prioritise accordingly + Sampling & Dispensing of an array of materials + Actively participate in local SHE/GMP tours + Contribute to projects as required Skills, knowledge & competencies + Educated to degree level (BSc.) is preferable, with substantial experience of working in a GMP environment + Previous experience of Fork Lift Truck (FLT) driving would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided + Knowledge of IATA and Known Consignor Regulations + Has a detailed knowledge and understanding of GMP requirements, materials management, warehousing and distribution + Able to partner with other teams and suppliers and deliver results in a matrix environment, managing multiple internal and external partners and stakeholders + Experience of sampling/working with hazardous chemicals + Able to adapt emerging best practices and industry innovations + Outstanding communication skills on all levels and problem-solving capabilities + An understanding of how the team interacts internally and externally within the organisation and how they contribute to the objectives of the business + Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively + Proficient in data capture, analysis and reporting utilising various IT system + Excellent attention to detail + Flexible + Must be security screened Offer This opportunity not only offers the chance to work in a dynamic growing R&D team but also in a company that is looking to expand in an exciting area of research.
