Find your future with us. In 2017, the UK Ministry of Defence commissioned a new fleet of nine P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol (MPA). The P-8A MPA is based on a Boeing 737 modified with equipment to tackle a diverse range of missions, including protecting the Trident nuclear submarines and reconnaissance work far beyond UK territorial waters. The MPA Programme includes a 130m investment in creating a P-8A Strategic Facility at RAF Lossiemouth. The P-8A Strategic Facility itself will comprise Squadron accommodation, crew and maintainer training facilities, flight planning facilities, workshop areas and a three-bay aircraft hangar, and is 19 meters in height, 165 meters in length and 100 meters wide. The facility is part of a long-term partnering initiative between Boeing and the UK Government to advance growth and prosperity in the United Kingdom, which was announced at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow. Boeing are now looking for highly skilled aircraft maintenance professionals to support the aircraft from 2020. The UK team have initially support the aircraft entering service in Jacksonville Florida (August 2019) before transitioning to the UK's P8 Strategic Facility at RAF Lossiemouth (Jan 2020). This position is for technicians who will carry out aircraft maintenance tasks as required. The technicians will be part of a team of working in support of Royal Air Force Maritime Patrol Aircraft Operations at RAF Lossiemouth and other operating bases such as RAF Kinloss and US Navy Station Jacksonville. This is a new position available in early 2020, created by the rapid growth in our organisation to deliver maintenance at the P8 Strategic Facility in Lossiemouth. When the aircraft enter into service the successful applicant will perform aircraft maintenance both under Boeing's MAA MRP part 145 and US Navy regulations. We are very keen to hear from skilled aircraft Technicians with experience of performing aircraft maintenance from both the military and commercial aerospace environments. This is a permanent position and offers an excellent opportunity to join the world's largest aerospace company. The successful candidates will be knowledgeable in all aspects of aircraft maintenance, modification and repair to include skill and experience inmechanical disciplines. Candidates will have knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environment processes (FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH). Key responsibilities: Assembles disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing removing replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes Configures aerospace vehicles and test equipment Troubleshoots complex aircraft systems to isolate mechanical faults and repair faulty components within guidelines published in authorized maintenance documents Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite. Experience: Recent aircraft maintenance experience on fixed wing narrow body aircraft preferred. Line or base maintenance experience desirable. A recognised apprenticeship scheme or equivalent training programme preferred. This is a Shift Work Role Security clearance (SC) or the ability to gain it is required.
