Outline This means you will work shifts as needed when our regular staff are on holiday, on sick leave or during other periods of additional need. We will pay you on an hourly rate basis for the time worked, and shifts offered can include weekdays and weekends. A working day for a Relief Support Worker might include going for a walk in the park or to a football match with someone we support, working with someone to do the shopping, prepare meals and wash up, engaging people in creative activities such as painting and music. This isn't always an easy job, but when you see the pride in someone's face when they achieve a new goal, no matter how small, you'll find out just how rewarding it is. How Relief works The Relief (Bank) post will support the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave/sickness/training/unforeseen vacancies. As such, hours are non specific but the service will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible. Rotas will be available 6 weeks in advance. About you We welcome people with previous experience in the care sector, but this is not essential . If you are a caring, creative and patient person then you have the qualities needed for this job, and we will provide all the training, day-to-day assistance and back-up you'll need. What we need from you Although we welcome people from a social care background or similar, experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme. People join us from many different backgrounds, it's more important to us that you have a positive approach and are willing to learn. It is essential for these positions that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you may be required to drive service vehicles.
