Job Description

UHCW NHS Trust is looking to recruit a motivated Senior Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic team. The post is based at UHCW however there is cross site working with clinics being held at Rugby St Cross Hospital. The successful applicant will lead a team of 3.5 WTE PDSN's, a Health Care Support Worker and a Diabetes Specialist Administrator. You will work within a wider MDT of consultants, a dietitian and a psychologist to deliver a high level of care to children and young people with diabetes. The post holder will be able to manage a caseload autonomously and be able to facilitate both clinical and managerial roles seamlessly. They will have good knowledge on the Best Practice Tariff and NPDA and will use these standards and data to contribute to the ongoing service development. The successful applicant will also demonstrate excellent communication skills in order to support children, young people and their families from diagnosis through to transition into the adult diabetes service. You will be a clinic expert in paediatric diabetes and be able to support families at times of crisis, such as during illness management. You will be able to support nursing and medical staff with advice when necessary. The post holder will be able to confidently deliver educational programmes for children, young people and families as well as professionals such as staff from educational settings and nursing and medical staff.
