Job Description

What is the Opportunity? The purpose of this position is to provide desktop support services to the GAM line of business and be responsible for managing the desktop estate in production, supporting both the trading and non-trading user base. This role requires a collaborative based approach working alongside other technology & application teams to ensure that we are able to deliver a stable environment that meets the needs of the business areas What will you do? * Provide desktop technical support to the GAM Business line, and be flexible to cover the business needs * Ensure tickets are logged via ServiceNow and are being updated accordingly and meeting SLAs * Resolve trading desktop issues, supporting 3rd party market data applications and provide 1st line for in house trading applications * Troubleshoot and provide resolution to issues related to IT hardware * Support of Citrix virtual desktop environments; Xendesktop and XenApp * Installation, configuration, and support of mobile devices * Floor walking, desk visits and remote support for VPN clients * Undertake system administration duties to ensure the smooth and continuous running of Bank systems * To introduce efficiencies and evolve the support structure across GAM and provide insights into the GAM environment to TI management * Proactively look for service improvements and relevant planning to implement required changes * Provide Technical support for other business lines * To gain an understanding of RBC technologies, Operating Systems, and Applications * Follow assigned projects through to completion and/or implementation * Assist with the training of new hires and cross-training of existing team personnel when required What do you need to succeed? Must have: Knowledge and experience of supporting a trade floor environment. Have a good technical understanding of Market Data applications such as Bloomberg and Eikon • Experience working with Trading Platforms, market data feeds, including troubleshooting Excel add-ins • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems, Mac, VDI and mobile estate • Understanding of ITIL • Good oral and written communication skills • Proven interpersonal skills; interacts professionally with internal and external contacts. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Nice to have: * College/University Diploma in Computer Science or a related * field; or equivalent years of experience; or University Degree * ITIL v3: Foundations, Operational Support & Analysis * Technical Certification in an IT area What is in it for you?
