Working Hours This is a full time Monday- Friday role. Hours will be 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm alternating weekly. What does the typical day of a process operator look like? * Understand Production plan and Products for the Bakery · Ensuring that the Plants are set up for relevant and desired product to centreline specification · Monitoring of rotary/moulding and oven ensuring weights and moisture are within specification · Where required making Toffee, Mallow or Crème to depositing on the product · For Chocolate products ensuring correct coverage and weight of product · As and when required trained to carry out changeovers on the Plants for next production runs · Ensure compliance of Food Safety Standards · Adhere to basic PPE and Plant Safety Standards · Participate in any Safety, Health and Environment related courses as required · Responsible for own and safety of others · Comply with all safety regulations and instruction · Participate in training and development of self and team · Maintenance of hygiene and 'clean as you go' procedures · Working together as part of a team to ensure we make great biscuits · Operate and maintain all machinery in such a way as to ensure optimum performance and minimise downtime · Conduct routine quality checks of the product as prescribed by the Process Control Sheet, adjusting settings as required to maintain the highest possible level of quality and to meet the Product Specification · Communicate effectively with colleagues in order to control production and reduce waste · Ensure the safe working environment and good hygiene of the process machinery and working area at all times As a process line leader whilst being competent with the above, you will also be doing the following Line Leader duties: Co-ordinate the shift operations team to deliver targets and objective. Safely isolate, strip, clean, maintain, set-up, change-over, test and operate equipment. Relieve process operatives as required. Apply and use autonomous maintenance techniques. Ensure self/team members adhere to PPE and plant safety standards. Complete required safety checks/documentation. Ensure self/team members adhere to GMP (good manufacturing practice) and Company standards. Complete as required quality and hygiene checks/documentation. Co-ordinate hygiene activities. Ensure process control documents, SIC boards and other reporting methods are adhered to. Deliver the production KPI's, such as efficiency, waste, employee numbers. Identify and implement corrective actions to improve operating performance. Communicate with the team/management on performance, opportunities and improvement action plans Assist in developing team members. The requirements are as follows: Previous manufacturing experience in a similar role Team player - able to build relationships. Good "people" skills - able to inspire a sense of pride / motivate the team. Responsible and positive attitude, calm under pressure. Ability to think on feet, with confidence to handle minor conflict situations. Set an example in relation to Company Values, such as attendance & timekeeping Basic IT skills (training will be given). Willingness to be involved in and drive CI projects within your area.
