Find your future with us. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, energetic and driven IT End User Support Specialist to join Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) in Lossiemouth . About the role The purpose of this role is to support the core Service Management End User Support (EUS) function within all programmes that Common Information Services (CIS) are aligned to. This post will report direct to the Service Management Support Manager. The IT End User Support Specialist will be a part of the wider BDUK IT team and will be responsible for providing both remote and hands-on desktop technical support to a varied community of users. This role will primarily be supporting Lossiemouth/Kinloss area with the occasional remit of providing support to various other locations, as required by the business. Local to site, you will be involved in system integration activities, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Provide problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems, in particular the chosen Maintenance Repair Overhaul system. Provide support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Administer and support user's system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for delivering products and projects and providing technical support to a wide range of users and capabilities at all levels. Equally comfortable, confident and professional whether on the end of a phone or 'hands-on' at a desk, you will be the sort of individual that takes pride in providing a first-rate service and genuinely enjoys solving IT issues for colleagues at all levels. The responsibilities include: Deploying and administering IT systems in the assigned region (including end-user laptops/desktops, computing servers, network equipment, voice and video hardware and mobile devices) Responding to IT incidents assigned, to perform incident resolution or, when needed, escalation to the appropriate group Executing software installation and deployment to computing systems Executing device asset change tasks and reflect such changes in appropriate hardware asset register database Providing IT assistance and consultation to the end users Distribution of new user IT starter package and providing initial user IT orientation Ensuring security and policy compliance while performing technical tasks Contributing to technical documentation, knowledge articles, procedures & process definitions Performing emergency or periodically planned information systems administration tasks, maintenance/upgrades and configuration changes. Contributing to BDUK IT projects as needed and as coordinated by the assigned project manager Please note that some business travel can expected to other BDUK sites, as driven by business needs. This role also would require flexibility as off-hours support may occasionally be required to support service restoration. What we are looking for: Hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure desktop support and service delivery, preferably backed up with experience of Network Support or IP Telephony systems support Exposure to enterprise ITSM tools such as ESMS, HP BTO, ServiceNow and supporting processes Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills Strong customer service skills and the ability to apply sensitivity and discretion when required Excellent English oral and written communication skills Pro-active and customer-focused approach Computing or engineering degree would be preferred Experience of working within an ITIL environment (certification would be an advantage) Experience with switches, routers, wireless, command line interface and network protocols would be beneficial Professional technical certifications would be highly desirable All information provided will be checked and may be verified.
