The role of the Electrician Technician is to provide an effective electrical maintenance and installation service to the Company by completing and monitoring electrical and general maintenance issues on rolling stock and throughout the site. You will be required to have experience of supporting plant and equipment within a manufacturing environment. Key Accountabilities Safety - Support the implementation of the Pullman Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives, to deliver continuous improvement in all areas. Key Tasks Undertake all types of electrical and mechanical modification work, repair and fault finding. Efficiently and effectively fault find / diagnose technical issues on all plant machinery. Always work safely complying with and using our safe systems of work, permit systems, method statements, dynamic risk assessments Resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact to production. Identify process and equipment improvement opportunities by improving maintenance schedules and equipment capability / reliability. Complete all maintenance activities on time as planned. Be flexible in attendance for improvement work and repairs to sometimes be conducted outside the standard shift pattern to maximise productive hours and minimise downtime. Fault finding across a wide range of electrical equipment and machinery. Other works will include small containment and wiring installations as well as general electrical duties as necessary. Promote a culture of continual improvement. Participate as and when required in team and one-to-one meetings, and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, relevant to the role. Keep up to date with developments within the Company and other sector wide practices, that influence the day-to-day activities within the role, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and any other relevant internal/external factors e.g. Company policies and procedures, health and safety, quality standards. Ensure, in the course of employment, complete confidentiality is maintained in respect of the Company, its dealings, transactions, and all other information relating to clients/ customers, staff etc. Demonstrate commitment to the aims and objectives of the Company and the implementation of its Equal Opportunities policy in the workplace. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined, you must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility to the post. Person Specification Recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification. 3 - 5 years' electrical experience gained working within a manufacturing environment. Experience in PPM and fault finding on modern machinery and equipment. Sound maintenance and engineering experience in a production environment, ideally a heavy engineering environment. Apprentice trained with formal electrical qualifications. Experience of electrical maintenance in a heavy engineering environment Experienced in electrical installation of single, 3 phase and DC equipment. As part of the maintenance team, undertake some mechanical and general building maintenance The ability to fault find/test. Able to work effectively as part of team and with others across the Company. Excellent attention to detail.
