Internal - Business Rates Technician

Applications will only be accepted from those employed by Wakefield Council. Under the Agency Worker Regulations October 2011, all agency workers currently engaged with Wakefield Council are eligible to apply. As a key member of the business rates team we are looking for someone who is adaptable, motivated and demonstrates careful attention to detail. This role involves assisting the Business Rates team leader in the day to day billing, collection and enforcement of National Non-Domestic Rates and BID levy. You will need proven technical knowledge of Business Rates and BID levy, have excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines both as part of a team and independently. In addition you will need to be committed and confident at negotiating with a diverse range of stakeholders by telephone and in person when conducting site visits across the district. Experience of performing at a supervisory level is desirable. Applicants must have the IRRV Technician level qualification or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of technical knowledge gained through experience.
