Due to the current modernising of the occupational therapy mental health service an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational therapist to work as part of our Inpatient team Due to the current modernising of the occupational therapy mental health service an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational therapist to work as part of our Inpatient team This permanent post will allow us to continue to develop the role of mental health occupational therapist within the inpatient service, allowing us to make a positive difference to the lives of individuals who experience a range of complex mental health difficulties You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to think creatively, have knowledge of service development, redesign and quality improvement work. You will have specialist knowledge in occupational therapy assessments and interventions and an ability to work safely and efficiently both as an autonomous practitioner and part of the wider multi-disciplinary teams including our key stakeholders. This will post will focus on ensuring access to high quality, specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions as well as safe, timely and efficient discharge from hospital; providing a link between inpatient and community settings. You will lead on designated quality and service improvement projects. You will contribute to staff supervision and development and offer consultation and advice to the both Occupational therapy staff and the wider MDT. For those individuals who do not meet all the necessary essential criteria their applications may be considered for a Band 6 development post. You would be given 18 months maximum to achieve the transition to a Band 6 and meet the key competencies outlined within a Band 6 development plan As a service we are fully committed to ongoing professional development, supervision and training.
