Post: Locum consultant haematologist Base: QUEEN ELIZABETH UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL/GLASGOW ROYAL INFIRMARY Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Haematologist post for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GG&C), based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), New Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospital (NVACH) and Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI). We are looking for a motivated individual to join the team of 30 Haematology consultants in Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The successful applicant will be based at QEUH/NVACH with sessions and on call at GRI, to provide non-malignant haematology expertise to North and South Glasgow to form part of a 6.6 consultant team in the South and 3.9 consultant team at GRI, to meet day case, outpatient, consultative and laboratory commitments. In particular, they will have a significant role in providing transfusion, haemostasis and haematology obstetric services in South Glasgow which has close links to a similar service in North Glasgow. The successful applicant will be involved in the on-going development of Clinical & Laboratory Haematology services for GG&C and will have the opportunity of developing a special interest commensurate with the needs of the service. On-call responsibility will be at GRI and will be 1 in 4.5 for this post. You should be appropriately experienced and qualified in the specialty, fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practice. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
