Job Description

an exciting oppportunity to join MHS Tayside Applications are invited from Registered Nurses to work within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Ninewells Hospital. AMU is a healthcare environment which provides acute and emergency care to patients presenting with a variety of medical conditions, and also encompasses an Ambulatory Assessment Area. The post-holder will work with a range of services and healthcare professionals across the interface of acute and primary care. This provides the opportunity to develop new knowledge and skills, enhance existing skills and gain experience managing capacity and flow You should be motivated and committed to providing high standards of care in an acute setting, and be able to effectively prioritise care. You should be able to work well as part of a large and diverse multidisciplinary team. The post provides the opportunity to influence and develop practice within an acute admissions environment. Successful post-holders will be supported by the AMU Clinical Educator and have access to a range of CPD activities linked to Acute Medicine, including opportunities to undertake Masters level study and develop enhanced skills. You should therefore be able to demonstrate your commitment to professional development and provide evidence of ongoing learning. Opportunities to rotate through other Urgent Care areas can also be discussed and supported. Applicants should be registered on either Part 1 or Part 12 of the NMC Register, and should have at least 6 months post registration experience.
