As a member of Digital Forensic Unit, the Victim Identification Officer will be expected to; * Coordinate and assist in identifying child victims and offenders of child sexual exploitation from information contained within digital images and videos. * Provide vital information regarding locations, clothing, distinctive marks, scars, tattoos, equipment used to make the image, age of the image and connections between series of images. * Liaise with Child Exploitation Investigators and other Victim Identification Investigators at Local, Regional and National levels (including NCA CEOP). * Be a specialist user of the National Child Abuse Image Database (CAID). * Achieve the safeguarding of victims of child sexual exploitation. The successful candidate will have the following skills: * Ability to work on own initiative, possess an aptitude for problem solving complex tasks and be able to approach tasks in a methodical and precise way. * Possess good communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to liaise with colleagues of all ranks and senior representatives of other organisations at a National and International level. * Be able to regularly work with material that may be of an obscene, offensive or distressing nature. Treat such material in the appropriate manner ensuring it is secured and handled in the strictest confidence and in accordance with defined policies. * Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and multiagency approach (MASH). * Attend mandatory counselling sessions as directed as part of the wellbeing programme.
