Job Description
Roles - Prison Nurses - multiple roles Suitable for RGN's or RMN's Location - Chelmsford Working pattern - Permanent - 37.5 hrs / week Salary Up to £35,000 Team24 are working with our sister company who employee Prison Nurses to work in a prison setting in Essex. It is a young offender and category B setting. You will provide high quality care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs. You will be a Registered Nurse or Registered Mental Nurse with around four years post qualification experience. As a Prison Nurse you will provide similar services to the work in a GP practice including mental health and substance misuse services. The type of experience needed is recent and relevant experience in Acute Medicine, Long Term Conditions or Acute Psychiatry and Complex Mental Health. You will be offering a holistic service to the prison community. Your skills and compassion will provide the healthcare needs of the multi-faceted community. Due to the environment there will be more cases needing care for mental health and substance abuse. You are joining a multi-disciplinary team who work cohesively, supporting the patients and each other. The team delivers care to patients both within the Healthcare Centres and on the Wings / House blocks within the prison environment. Your duties will include managing the following * minor injury and illness * long term conditions * Carry out first reception screening * substance misuse * emergency and unscheduled care * health assessment * mental health * in reach and outreach specialist services * nurse consultation clinics * clinical governance * Provide professional advice and support to Paramedics, HCA's and non-clinical staff * Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illness or injury and take appropriate actions and refer onwards for more serious conditions. * Be responsible for the Emergency response radios and attend all emergency calls on shift, * Lead and participate in primary clinics e.g. wound care. * Provide written statements as required and to give oral testimony as required in any Court or Tribunal Experience can come from any of these areas * Working in Acute units, A&E or independent and autonomous practice * Acute Psychiatry and Complex Mental Health * General practice Nursing background * Any nurse with four years' experience who has worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team * Mental Health Nursing background The key skills required are * Excellent communication and inter-personal skills * Ability to build and develop relationships * Strong customer service skills * Must be confident and capable of autonomous practice Qualifications and Knowledge * RGN or RMN with PIN and circa four years PQE * Experience in a custodial environment desirable * Excellent clinical examination skills * Experience of venepuncture * Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team * Must have current driving license Benefits offered * Competitive salary (£35,000 per annum) * Earn up to £150 per referral via our refer a friend scheme* * Dedicated registration team to help you through the process * Immediate work available * The opportunity to work for a growing company within the Secure Health sector * Access to accredited training courses (both online and practical)* * Career progression opportunities * Support with CPD (Continued Professional Development) * Support with Revalidation Who are Team 24?
